Opinions Are Like…

[fill in the blank]

Last night, as I wrestled to prioritize all the things I wanted to do, or could be doing, after a long day at work, I opted to work on a crocheted book cover while watching some recorded prime time TV shows. Yes, I’m three days “behind schedule” on two separate blogging challenges. There’s plenty of blog fodder out there – lots of newsy bits to comment on. But this small, still voice within assured me, “You don’t have to have an opinion on everything, you know.”

“Yes, but what if I have one?”

“You shouldn’t feel compelled to share it.”

“That’s a polite way of putting it.”

“I try.”

Doesn’t it seem a little weird to be so preoccupied with celebrities, folks?

“Stop that.”

“What?”

“Don’t give me that innocent look. You’re about to do that thing – that thing bloggers do. Even as you write about how stupid it is to do it.”

“No, I’m not!”

“Yes, you are. Watch.”

Seriously – I almost did it – then I went back to my crochet. If you’re curious, it’s purple. And stay tuned – you’ll get your chance, this weekend, to win this one-of-a-kind (and if I have to rip it out and start over again, probably last of its kind) book cozy.

Meanwhile, you might want to learn more about the author of the book I’m cozying up to (and crocheting a cover for) – Cairn Rodrigues, who is not yet quite a celebrity (though she’s the sort who really ought to be – she’d be far more fun and far less tragic than most).

Is Cairn Rodrigues truly The Last Prospector? #asmsg #fantasy (Instantly and imminently Tweetable title, isn’t it?)

Then feel free to weigh in with an opinion on yesterday’s post at the Blood-Red Pencil, “Let’s Write About Sex” – which is, unsurprisingly, a happier blog romp than discussing celebrity woes and wobbles.

I would be a great celebrity. In my rich inner fantasy world, I sit on the bottom row, far right chair on Match Game. Hopefully, next to Richard Dawson, who would be allowed to kiss me.

I want to sit next to Paul Lynde. And look down and make faces at you and Richard.

Can\’t wait for the book cozy contest. Will brush up on creatures camouflaged on your office tree, book cover trivia, and … the Bathroom Reader?

      OOoooh, all good ideas, Tyna!

Not sure I have (or can find) the Bathroom Reader. Although you might want to read some manuals or the blurb on the box of Cheerios, or something. You just never know.

Or write instructions on how to get to a Google+ Hangout once you’ve been INVITED… I mean, not like you’d know…
