To be honest, people don't consider the many blogs readers are asked to read and comment on - they focus on their OWN blogs, and think their commenting systems are great, so what's the problem? The problem is, they're all different. Some even malfunction and eat your carefully crafted comments as you post them. MOST require you to log in, and the methods are often different. Those that don't require login usually still require name, rank, and ser--er, name, email, URL, etc. and the keystrokes add up. We're all information overloaded and somewhat lazy (or just bordering on burn-out, some days) so anything you can do to make it easy on your READERS (not just easy on yourself and your SEO) is a good thing, IF you really value comments. I agree with them.
