Sweet Olathe corn… Though the prompt calls for roasted, I usually just rub it with lightly salted butter, roll it in parchment, twist the ends, and nuke it on high for three minutes. A little sea salt, a shrine of pepper, and… Yum.

That might explain why this specimen looks a little burnt.

I learn something with each new ink sketch: humility, technique, how to embrace the flaws and call them “style.”

Who knew a tasty ear of corn could be so stylish?

    Funny I had some steamed corn this evening for dinner ! And this picture is amazing . Must try this technique sometime . Must be time consuming though

    • After what I wrote the other day, I shouldn’t admit this, but it took a little less than an hour. It could be more detailed, but it was late, and if I’m going to do one of these a day, I can’t let perfection hold me back. I’m learning as I go, and that’s a good thing!
