A gauntlet thrown my direction, picked up in a moment of weakness: boredom. Who can resist the lure of a challenge when they're bored?<\/p>\n<p>After all, I once wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/jahangiri.us\/2017\/april-is-poetry-month\/\">a sonnet about roadkill<\/a>. I'm down with an ode to cheese. When I was a kid, my parents owned a store in Daytona Beach: The Cheese Shoppe.\u00a0My hastily penned poem might stink like yesterday's Limburger smeared on an old fashioned radiator, but how could I resist it? It'll pair nicely with that other sonnet.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 26px;\">Feel Free to Dis a Brie, But I Think It's Gouda'nuff!<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It began as a sonnet on cheddar<br \/>But a Limburger Limerick is better<br \/>And there's nothing to lose<br \/>When singing the bleus -<br \/>If a lady would sing, you should let her.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, that's not \"beautiful.\" Let's try this again, with a purely autobiographical sonnet.<\/p>\n<h3>Cheese Wheel of Life<\/h3>\n<p>\"I've a craving,\" I said, \"Grilled Havarti on rye,<br \/>With horseradish--a copious slather!\"<br \/>\"But we've just finished dinner,\" he said, with a sigh.<br \/>\"Chocolate cake!\" he said. \"Wouldn't you rather--?\"<\/p>\n<p>\"Well, I might, but <em>we<\/em> wouldn't,\" I said, with a wink,<br \/>Looking down at my over-large belly.<br \/>And that's when I brought proud Papa to the brink:<br \/>\"Blue cheese! Habanero! And jelly!\"<\/p>\n<p>\"Gorgonzola?\" he asked. \"Chocolate and chips?\"<br \/>I nodded and grinned my unbridled delight.<br \/>\"With mangoes and brie?
