Holly Jahangiri

Holly Jahangiri is the author of Trockle, illustrated by Jordan Vinyard; A Puppy, Not a Guppy, illustrated by Ryan Shaw; and the newest release: A New Leaf for Lyle, illustrated by Carrie Salazar. She draws inspiration from her family, from her own childhood adventures (some of which only happened in her overactive imagination), and from readers both young and young-at-heart. She lives in Houston, Texas, with her husband, J.J., whose love and encouragement make writing books twice the fun.

So lovely! Did you post this on Race to the Hugo? I’m ashamed to say I haven’t written anything for it yet!

    • Holly Jahangiri

I have not! (Yet.) I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t think of it, but maybe I should! Thanks for the idea. Time you, Mitchell, and I get serious about our project again!

(ALSO, I just gave the bouncer a bloody nose. I don’t know why he keeps shoving you into the hall closet. I am SO sorry.)

You certainly flipped the legend on its head. Lovely, descriptive writing here.

    Cheers,

    Mitch

It was fun to do that. I like flipping things on their heads and twisting tales.

I see what you did there. LOL

This is delightful and so fun to read. Great work Holly!

Thank you, Lynne! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Holly ~ I like your title. It draws one in, but it does not give away what “I” will be reading about.

You drew me in to this story. I didn’t suspect that she was a mermaid until a long way into the piece. Bravo.

I love how you included lore: …Diana saw to that with a voice that could lull a whole ship full of sailors far off course…

    Write On, please!

    Kathleen

And thanks for letting the Creative Copy Challenges inspire you.
